Public Art CT is an online guide to spaces of community engagement defined by permanent installations of sculpture, art, architecture, historic markers, and gardens.
At initiation, the site focuses geographically on the 29 towns of Greater Hartford Connecticut focusing on themed tours and searchable maps to help visitors, prospective residents, and students discover the art that is around them in the public space. The website is designed to add content proposed by community partners and to expand to cover the entire State of Connecticut over time.
The website is a digital publication of Professor Alden Gordon of Trinity College in Hartford. It grew out of teaching experiments and writing projects with undergraduates. The site now seeks to recruit partners as contributors and stakeholders to expand the themes and coverage of art in public places.
