Friday Five: Curtain Calling

For a small city, we’ve got huge stage presence. From Broadway productions to comedy central, here’s a preview what’s coming to a stage very near you.

1. Hartford Stage
You’ve got two days to see Murder on the Orient Express and then just about a week to wait until The Age of Innocence opens– from exotic mystery to society and scandal, Hartford Stage has you covered.

2. The Bushnell
If their announcement of the 2018-19 Broadway season didn’t want to make you move into one of their dressing rooms, their schedule for the next few weeks will. From Never Break the Chain – The Music of Fleetwood Mac to the The Wizard of Oz to Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets™ – In Concert Featuring The Hartford Symphony Orchestra there is something for everyone.

3. TheaterWorks
The Legend of Georgia McBride opened last week to rave reviews, and Elvis will not be leaving the building until April 22. Get your blue suede shoes on and head to TheaterWorks for this “music-filled comedy is about finding and celebrating your true voice.” Their next production, The Invisible Hand, opens May 17.

4.  Sea Tea Improv
We love our comedic corporators, and you should too. There are six Sea Tea shows to choose from just this weekend, and plenty more to choose from in the weeks and months to come. It’s a non-stop-laugh factory over there. If you haven’t been there yet, GO THIS WEEKEND. We’re not kidding, but you will be, if you decide to take our advice.

5. Infinity Hall
If you’re less drama and more music, Infinity Hall is the theater for you. Upcoming performances in their Hartford location include Lettuce, Delbert McClinton and Completely Unchained.
