PEDHEAD WAYFINDING
Eight wayfinding signs have been installed at the intersection of Trumbull St. and Asylum St. The signs are there to promote walking in Downtown Hartford by letting pedestrians know where and how far away many civic and cultural landmarks are located. The signs are mounted on the backs of the “walk/don’t walk” signals (also known as “pedheads"), which is where pedestrians most need information about the locations of key destinations in oder to chose their walking route. -
iQUILT BANNERS
This is a collection of photo banners created especially for The iQuilt Plan website. We put out the word for great photos of Hartford's cultural destinations, and great photos we got! Thanks to all who contributed. For photo title and credit, hover the cursor over the image. -
iQUILT PUBLIC WORKSHOP
These images show the community's participation in a workshop held on March 30th 2011 at the Public Library on Main Street which focused on Bushnell Park and its connections to the rest of the city. -
HOLLANDER POP-UP STUDIO
The iQuilt design team set up a pop-up studio over their 4 day visit to Hartford in March in the Hollander building at 410 Asylum. The images show a small scale pilot project installation of a series of banners which illustrate Hartford's history, art, and culture. The images also show the design team hard at work and a visit by mayor Segarra. -
NEA SUBMISSION
The images submitted to the National Endowment for the Arts, which won for Hartford the top grant of $250,000.
