New Chair Elected

The newly elected Chair of the Board of the iQuilt Partnership is James Carter, Managing Principal of Carter Realty. Mr. Carter will take over for outgoing Chair, Bonnie Malley, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Phoenix Companies.

Mr. Carter brings thirty years of real estate experience to his new role as iQuilt Partnership Chair. Prior to forming Carter Realty, Mr. Carter was Chief Investment Officer of Konover Properties Corporation (2006), where he oversaw all investment activity, including acquisitions and development.

Mr. Carter brings thirty years of real estate experience to his new role as iQuilt Partnership Chair. Prior to forming Carter Realty, Mr. Carter was Chief Investment Officer of Konover Properties Corporation (2006), where he oversaw all investment activity, including acquisitions and development.

Mr. Carter, a very active member of the Hartford community, has given his time and expertise to many service organizations; previously serving as a Board member for Riverfront Recapture, the Capital Housing Finance Corporation, the Knox Foundation and the Mutual Housing Association of Connecticut, among others. He currently serves on the boards of the Hartford Business Improvement District, the Social Enterprise Trust (reSET) and as Board Chair for the Connecticut Housing Investment Fund. Both Mr. Carter’s professional and volunteer experience will be assets to both the iQuilt Partnership and the further implementation of the iQuilt Plan.

“I am honored and pleased to take on the role of Chairman of the Board for the iQuilt Partnership,” said Mr. Carter. “I look forward to working with the Board and the Hartford community as we continue to implement more of the iQuilt Plan.”

Outgoing Chair, Ms. Malley, will remain connected to the iQuilt Partnership, even as she steps into her new leadership role as the Chair of the MetroHartford Alliance Board.  “It was a great privilege to serve as the iQuilt Partnership’s Chair. I look forward to continuing to have an active role on the iQuilt Board and assisting Jim with this transition.”
